A research fellow position is available under the DANSE project
to develop data analysis software for neutron scattering experiments.
DANSE is a new program with 5 years of funding from the NSF.
The person in this position will pursue the science of inelastic
scattering studies of atomic vibrations in molecules, and develop
computational tools to do this science.
Responsibilities:
As a computational scientist, the research fellow will pursue
scientific research at the interface between inelastic scattering
experiments and computational science. This work should leverage
the new capabilities in computational science that are developed
in the DANSE project, and utilize the inelastic neutron scattering
facilities in the U.S.
As a software developer, the research fellow will adapt molecular
dynamics packages and quantum chemical packages with local
basis sets to the DANSE analysis system.
Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in physical sciences such as chemistry, physics, materials
science, or engineering, with some experience in object-oriented
software development.
